laredo silver room
The Laredo SILVER ROOM is dedicated to providing essential resources and support for ABUSED, NEGLECTED, AND/OR EXPLOITED ELDERY AND VULNERABLE ADULTS WITHIN ADULT Protective Services. It is a partnership with Department of Family and Protective Services- ADULT Protective Services.

Core Mission and Goals
The Rainbow Room operates on a few key principles to help children who have been victims of abuse or neglect:
Dignity Through New Items: A strict "new items only" policy ensures that children in traumatic situations receive high-quality goods. This is intended to boost their self-esteem and help them feel valued during a vulnerable time.
24/7 Accessibility: Because emergencies don't just happen during business hours, the room is accessible to caseworkers 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
Supporting Caseworkers: The Rainbow Room eliminates the burden of caseworkers using their own funds to provide for children by providing a stocked "mini store" where they can obtain items.
Keeping Families Together: Beyond emergency removals, the mission includes providing items like cleaning supplies, car seats, or safety gear to families so that children can safely remain in their own homes.

Community Engagement
The Rainbow Room is 100% community-funded and volunteer-run. It does not receive state funding for its inventory; it relies entirely on donations from local citizens, churches, and businesses in the Laredo area.
